The resin barrel of the 163 Rollerball and the 144 Fountain Pen has a terrible knack for cracking where it meets the grip, even if you make sure not to overtighten it!
The issue is that Montblanc not only expects an arm and a leg to "repair" it, but also asks that you give them your pen for up to 8 weeks. Considering it takes five seconds to replace the barrel, I consider this a much better option.

There are two common sizes of Mont blanc rollerball pen: The 163 (Classique) and the 162 (LeGrand). The LeGrand is noticeably larger than a standard size pen (about an male index finger in width) , while the 163 is the more common, standard size pen (around a male pinky finger)
This barrel replacement is for the Montblanc Classique 163 Rollerball. If your pen is approximately 10-11mm thick on the barrel, then you have a Classique 163!
